Art Lectures

Now that you are living in England and roving Europe, you will discover the many treasures of painting, sculpture and architecture in museums and churches from Paris and Madrid to Athens and Rome.

Our Art Appreciation class gives you the opportunity to learn the meaning of what you see and experience, as well as a greater understanding about what makes a 'great' work of art.

Our lectures for 2011-2012 will focus on the cultural history of Europe by looking first at the beliefs that shaped each era, and, then, the art that reflects those beliefs and values. We will also include excerpts from music and literature this year to present a complete picture.

All are welcome . . . from those completely new to art to PhD's. Comments and discussion are encouraged.
