Walking is perhaps the best way to experience the beauty of the English countryside.
Although the southeast is one of the more populous areas of the country, we are literally steps away from some of the most stunning scenery here in the United Kingdom. Miles of paths criss-cross the landscape, making all areas of this charming country accessible. There are no less than 12 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (a British designation similar to a national park) in the southeast of England.
We typically offer two walks per month, September through May. We divide into carpools, distribute directions, then drive as a group to the start of our walk, no more than an hour away. We walk five to six miles on a circular route, and then finish up with lunch at a wonderfully warm (and usually charming and cheerful) pub. We then carpool back, arriving in time for the school run.
