Welcome to the 30^th anniversary of AWBS.

I am very pleased to not only be a returning member, but to have the privilege of being this year’s club president.Whether you are a returning member or a new member to our club, I am certain that this year will provide many fun and rewarding opportunities for everyone. AWBS is a social and philanthropic club whose goal is to nurture and encourage our members and our relationship with our community. Your AWBS board is a wonderful group that will be working on your behalf to ensure that this year is full of old traditions and new adventures.

We look forward to seeing new faces, as well as continuing old friendships. AWBS is a great resource for new members to our community, providing support and helpful tips for your transition period. Area Welcome Buddies are a big help, and someone to touch base with when you need some advice. Our Welcome Coffees are another fun opportunity to meet other new and existing members in your area.

Our monthly meetings at Chertsey Hall are a great way to meet people and get some wonderful information about products and services in our area. Travel is always a big topic among our group, and our meetings are a terrific place to collect information on destinations you may wish to visit. You can also gather more information and sign up for the many activities we have to offer, from country walks to art lectures to trips for antique shopping. Our guest speakers last year focused on “The Best of Britain”, and this year we will again have many informative and entertaining speakers at the meetings.

I hope that you will join us for another year of fun activities and friendship. As a returning member, I am always amazed that I still learn new things from our club, and always look forward to the camaraderie that exists among the members. AWBS has been a truly rewarding part of my experience in England, and I look forward to sharing another year of experiences with my fellow members.
